Understanding the method
How the five numbers in tantric numerology are calculated
This calculator uses only your date of birth. It follows a five-position approach often associated with contemporary tantric or yogic numerology in Kundalini Yoga circles: Soul, Karma, Gift, Destiny, and Path.
Results are reduced until they fall between 1 and 11. Unlike systems that reduce everything to a single digit, this method preserves 10 and 11. Each position uses a different part of your birth date, so two people born on the same day of the month may share a Soul number but have different Gift, Destiny, or Path numbers.
Soul and Karma
Soul is calculated from your birth day; Karma comes from your birth month. Each number is reduced independently, so the day and month never become interchangeable parts of the formula.
Gift and Destiny
Gift uses the last two digits of your birth year. Destiny uses all four digits of that year. These positions represent distinct calculations, not two names for the same result.
Path
Path adds together every digit of your birth date. It brings day, month, and year into a single total before applying the same tantric reduction rule.
Worked example
Example: December 29, 2004
This birth date shows why 10 and 11 are not automatically reduced in this system.
- Soul: 2 + 9 = 11, so 11 is retained.
- Karma: 1 + 2 = 3.
- Gift: 0 + 4 = 4.
- Destiny: 2 + 0 + 0 + 4 = 6.
- Path: 2 + 9 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 4 = 20 → 2.

Common questions about tantric numerology
Do I need to enter my name?
No. This calculator uses your birth date alone. Names do not play a part in any of the five formulas implemented here.
Are 10 and 11 reduced?
No. The calculation keeps reducing only while the number is greater than 11. Both 10 and 11 are valid final results.
Does Karma mean punishment?
Not here. Karma is the traditional label for the position derived from the birth month. Our interpretation focuses on learning and relating to your surroundings, not on blame or punishment.
Can these numbers predict what will happen?
